Hello, Folks. I wanted to say thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for my recovery from the injuries to my hands. Though the pain is less due to acupuncture, what I’m left with is a very deep fatigue, and I’m realizing that what I need is a good, long vacation from all this writing. I’m going to be 70 on my next birthday, after all, and I published my first astrology articles more than 40 years ago. You, my readers, have kept me going all these years, and never more so than in the 3 years Skywriter has been around. Hearing from you directly and having you take part in our continued learning with your comments has been such a great adventure.
I will still be publishing articles regularly through The Mountain Astrologer and answering reader’s questions about their charts through my Dell Horoscope Advice Column. To submit a question, send your complete birth information and details about the situation to me via email to ehockaday@dellmagazines.net. (Your name, birthplace, and current location will not be published.)
If you haven’t followed Skywriter very long, you can download an index of over 560 articles by subject, complete with active links, here: 1-Articles Index Skywriter 7-2011. OR, see the list of categories on the right hand side of the page. OR, use the search engine at the top right hand side of the blog.
To see a complete listing of my ebooks, including my Outer Planet Trilogy, see: Order My Books.
- If you’re coming to the United Astrology Congress in New Orleans over Memorial Day Weekend, do come and introduce yourself. I’ll be speaking there twice and would dearly love to meet you in person.
I’m hoping that after a few months rest I’ll once more get up in the morning eager to write something for you. There are still lots of topics we haven’t covered. So, it’s arrivederci, not goodbye. All my best, Donna.
Hello Donna,
I wish to thank you so very much for all the time and energy you have put in for astrologers like me in sharing so generously of your your extensive knowledge, experience and insights to give us greater understanding.
I wish you all the very best and hope the healing continues, I will continue to send white light for this.
Sit back relax and enjoy your long vacation.
Warm Regards Ineke

I keep meaning to do an update. My hands are lots better, though I’ll keep on using Dragon dictation software from here on out. I have started working on a huge book about stelliums, so my writing time will be focused on that for about a year–very exciting project! Donna

Stelliums? Wooo hoooo!! Finally a book about having lots if eggs in one side of the basket!!
Donna, wishing you healing and renewal in this year of the Water Dragon. It’s so exciting to know that you are percolating a new book!!!
I hope that this respite has been the “pause that refreshes.”
Blessings!!

Dear Dear Donna:
It was around 1983 that I started to read your wonderful writings.
You were such a great comfort to me,as I have 7 Pluto contacts,
all in fixed signs, all making square, conjunct, and opposite aspects,
that involve,
Moon,Ascendant,Saturn,Mars and Venus, and when you wrote
“SOLVING PLUTO PROBLEMS”
it was a Godsend to me.
Thank God I turned out to be one of those loving beings despite all these deep challenging aspects, and You made a huge difference in my life,
helped me so much to understand it all.
I have been studying Astrology for over 40 years,
not a spring chicken myself either.
Thank you so much for your tireless amazing efforts.
I am so sorry to hear about your pain,
and I Pray that you will heal, so you won’t be hurting anymore.
Maybe some MMJ could help, through a vaporizer,
and you may even enjoy it,and relax and feel better.
Laser and Ultrasound treatments from a good chiropractor might also help.
God Bless You Always and thank You again for all You do for all of us Seekers.
Namaste,
Julia Helen

We love you Donna, and love your work! Thanks so much for all you have done, it remains very valuable! Interesting that my mom had a finger injury in early August when Mercury went Rx and she is lucky to have her fingers! She is recovering and I know herbs have been a part of her quick recovery. Thinking of you this Samhain season!

Dearest Donna,
I still remember when I found this blog around may 2010. It just happened when I needed it the most and since then, your generosity in providing us with countless tools and cues to go deeper into ourselves and into astrology, has being a source of growth, self discovery and laughter!
There are no words to tell you how blessed and thankful I am for all you’ve given to me and many others, and wish it comes back to you as multiplied love, health and peace (…and inspiration, I’ll be waiting!)
At this point I’m in a new stage of the transits of pluto to my natal moon.
Funny enough, is closely tied to the very first comment I posted, but now there is more love and less fear…
Thank you Donna, many blessings
and a Presto!

So sorry to lose you after finding you only a couple of years ago..Thank you for posting your links.
I am 5 years behind you and wish the best for you..
.I have had a bad case of Lyme disease in the past, and often have stabbing pains in my hands, especially my thumbs and finger joints, so I understand your pain is probably worse, and hopefully it can be resolved. (have you ever been checked for Lyme? I do have some residual symptoms because had it for over 10 years before I was diagnosed….I never did take antibiotics and went homeopathic all the way. )
I look forward to reading all your articles, and hope to see you back in fine form again soon.

Dear Donna
I have been wondering how you were and whether you would be coming back.
I’m so sad that you won’t be carrying on with this wonderful site. It’s such a warm, informative, friendly and clever place to come – especially on a cold november day. Your benevolent spirit imbues the whole site with twinkling kindly sparkle and generosity and smarts.
I have gained many, many insights from reading your posts and the rich replies to them. Part of your magic is the way you get people to respond.
I also have to thank you for your kind encouragement when I first started my blog. You reached out a helping hand to me just when I thought I might be shouting in the wilderness.
I sincerely hope this is just a pause because I think you created something here that was very special.
I guess I’ll just have to make sure I read everything your write elsewhere.
Boo hoo and also blessings to you. May your hands heal beautifully.

Dear Donna, Much healing energy to you! I just found your blog even though I’ve read your articles for years in TMA. I am the same age, practice two of your professions and am also healing from a physical condition.
I just finished your article on stelliums and asked my fiance what area of his whole life would he say he had put the most energy into. He said “Pleasing other people in order to be noticed and admired.” I then asked if he had used the energy in that same area how he would have used it positively. He said ” I would have used it to create in order to give my own life fulfillment and towards helping other people with what I created.”
He has Gemini intercepted in the 11th house with Uranus conjunct the Moon conjunct Mercury as well as Venus and Saturn all in Gemini.
It’s SO exciting to bring your teaching to life and I continue to learn even after years of practice both as a therapist and as an astrologer. I know you will heal and continue in whatever way you are supposed to in teaching astrology. A mantra that has helped me from an 18th Century nun I will leave for you:
All shall be well.
And all shall be well.
And all manner of things shall be well.
Blessings for now,

Dear Donna,
I wish you all healing and a return to full health and nimble strong hands and body.
There is always the old fashioned dictaphone which my husband uses faithfully in his work. I have no doubt that you could easily find a scribe should you be so inclined.
In the meantime you have left us a deep and rich trove of starry treasure to ponder during your sabbatical. Your fields will rest and rejuvenated even as they appear to be fallow- and I am deeply grateful for your work with Pluto, and his pals Saturn, Neptune and Uranus.
The Byron Katie method The Work has been a useful tool during my Saturn on Libra stellium period. It helps come to terms with “what is” and helps us heal wounds from our thoughts and self imposed suffering about our circumstances. Like pragmatic Zen Buddhism.
On this eve of Thanksgivjng I am so very grateful to you for the lifetimes of wisdom you have poured out for all of us. Mille mercis!!!
Namaste,
Kelly

Why is it that when I come across helpful writing, a person always winds up not writing it anymore usually quite recently?
No matter. I suspect you’ll be back. Sometimes a writer has to take some time and do something else other than write, and the same is true for astrologers. I imagine after you’ve had enough of a break within yourself, you’ll be back to writing again.
I’ll look forward to seeing your writing then.

Joe Bill,
Donna is so right! Whenever I find someone who is very helpful, or a mentor-like figure to me, they always end up moving away (literally!) before too long. I have a Mercury/Saturn quincunx.
