I’ve been ill with a terrible case of bronchitis all week and unable to sleep, so I’m exhausted. But beyond that, the closer we get to the session, the more misgivings I’ve had.
The 12th house is such a private and even secret part of us, and this is a public forum, so not a good place to share those close to the chest questions. Much of what goes on in the 12th is less than conscious, so I am uneasy about bringing out what is hidden and not being able to gauge people’s reactions to what I say to them, as would be possible in an in-person counseling session.
(And, no, I’m not available for private sessions, as I retired from them 5 years ago for good reason. So please don’t write to me privately for an interpretation. I wonder if Tracy Marks is still taking clients—I’m still wowed by the depth of her book. Read about it here: A Book about the 12th House that will Help You Love Yourself)
I ‘ve missed the Q&A sessions in the year and a half I have away from blogging, and am open to suggestions of other topics. Let’s try again!
Such a bummer to hear you are not well. Hope you’ll be feeling much better very soon.

Sorry to hear you’re under the weather, Donna. I can see how a Q & A would be more taxing, I hope you get well soon, I love the work you do with us.

I had the flu, it seemed to get better after a few weeks, but now I think there’s a little cold bug going around giving people bronchitis. I hope you got your pneumonia vaccine recently, Donna. I think the prescription here is rest and lots of fluids. Shall I deliver some handmade chicken soup?

Yes, some astral chicken soup would be healing. Got my pneumonia several years back. Donna

So sad to hear about your health setback. But I love the idea of “astral chicken soup!” I’m gonna spend the rest of the weekend figuring out that recipe. Take care, Donna; hope you can quickly shake off this bug.

I hope you feel better soon! The 12th house involves those unexplainable feelings that we have that become self-fulfilled prophecies, so it’s probably best that you cancel this Q&A. The first time I broached the 12th house with someone was before I really understood it non-theoretically…
An Aries asked me why she has toxic relationships. My eyes zeroed in on her Mars in Taurus in the 12th house. I asked her about any anger issues… She denied it, then called me crazy and wrote a nasty “anonymous” letter to me…that I knew came from her. Since then, I’ve been wary about discussing people’s 12th house with them.

Well said! This house is a mysterious depth that does not lend itslef to clear, finite edges and it also moves, so to speak and for many of us is a tender, fluid amorphous place that I think instinctively we want to keep veiled.
I have felt an inner running “loop tape” going on about an image of Donnas Jupiter sun conjunction here…as if it’s a key idea…it’s just now settling into something but I do not know what. I simply want to thank her for being alive and lending so much to modern astrology. This blog is one of the finest availble for study and analysis.

Oh, yeah, people who lack self-awareness can get pretty squirrely about the 12th. Donna

Dear Donna,
I hope you rest well. Thank you for all of the great knowledge that you share here!
Sage and ginger tea with honey might be soothing for now.

I get the impression now that the 12th house is really some kind of “bottomless pit”…and that it also has to do with what C.G. Jung called the (collective) unconsciousness. So it’s private and it’s not, in some way. The house of (hidden) drama and angels, of high potential but also mean things. Wise choice, Donna, to get back on firm ground. I wish you a peaceful recovery!

At first I feel sad…then suspicious..then admittedly relieved. Hiugs and a dose of Tiger Balm to Donna…these massive quantities of information and exploration on the blog about the 12th house draw me in and then I want to run from them…it’s too much on one level and profoundly insightful on another and it is no wonder the mother unti who is designed to share her gifts…realizes the gate was opened too wide.

As a macrobiotic woman, I should tell you that a hot pot porridge with scallion and egg will help your case, Donna. I have no idea why you left the diet before, anyway, sweet and chicken is not good for now, stay away from it until you fell better. Dentie, umeboshi and lotus root tea will be perfect for the healing, but I suppose you don’t have them. Get well soon!

Hi Donna,
Maybe you could elucidate therapies that have helped 12th House folk when you are back on your feet. Recently I participated in the Tapping World Summit with Jessica and Nick Ortner. Emotional Freedom Technique combines literally tapping on certain Chinese medicine meridian points while exploring beliefs, programming, painful experiences. It has been used to great effect with treating PTSD in veterans. In my state, you can get CEU credits in social work for it. Website: http://www.thetappingsolution.com
I used up my lifetime insurance premiums for talk therapy in my 30s. This method has helped me enormously. My other go to 12th House helpers: Carolyn Myss’ work “Defy Gravity” , Byron Katie “The Work” which helps identify core beliefs, meditation, sacred singing and movement.
These methods are great for 12th House and or stellium folk because they all work on changing stuck energy on multiple levels. Drug free, go at your own pace, you run the show. With Scorpio rising and Mars square Pluto I don’t like to cede control. LOL!
My natal Libra stellium has progressed to Sagittarius so I often find myself spreading “the good news” about what has helped me. My work involves 12th house matters. With Sag rising on my Progressed Asc and Progressed Saturn and Mercury right there, I want to say, keep the faith, it gets better.
Wishing you great health- and clear channels!
Namaste!
Kelly
