For some reason, I have been very curious over the past six weeks as to what the first bill President Obama signed would be. I just sensed that it would be highly significant. I got my answer in the NY Times online version today. Yesterday afternoon, he signed the new equal pay law, surrounded by a crowd of moved and jubilant women. It fits the current astrological picture very well, with Sun and Jupiter conjunct the North Node in Aquarius, and Venus and Uranus conjunct in Pisces, opposite Saturn in Virgo.
The long-running Uranus-Saturn opposition, which was exact on Election day, will be exact once again on February 5th, so expect more socially-relevant laws to pass between now and then. The opposition, which has been in range since Mid-September, will continue on and off until Mid-2010.
The last time Uranus and Saturn were opposite one another was in 1967-8, a time of great social upheaval and great progress in human rights. At that time, Uranus and Pluto were conjunct in Virgo while Saturn was in Pisces along with Chiron, a more complex picture but none the less a human rights signature. (The current opposition is even in the same degrees of the Pisces and Virgo, though the planets are in opposite signs from that era.)
Of late, we’ve seen plenty of footage of that amazing time–Martin Luther King Jr.’s stirring speeches in particular. When a particular planetary combination is repeated, the same or similar issues will often come up again to be resolved in a new way. This principle is a theme of my ebook, The Outer Planets in Aspect: the Outer Planets and Inner Life, volume 3, which you can see at http://www.moonmavenpublications.com/astrologybooks.html.)
There are some interesting comments on the Inaugural chart and its Void of Course Moon if you look at the post several days ago uner Current Astrological Conditions. It’s called “Flubbed Oath–Perfect Mercury Retrograde Story?”
I am more or less permanently verklempt these days!! What wonders we are seeing.
