Uranus in Aries & Flower Essences–8 Years of Significant Change Ahead

©2010 by guest blogger, Laurie A. Baum, MSW

Uranus, the planet of dramatic change, will enter the fiery sign of Aries on May 27, 2010, the first time it has done so since 1935.  Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, will join the revolutionary planet Uranus in Aries on June 8, 2010, intensifying the transformative energy of the Great Awakener.

Uranus is the planet that influences the striving for individuality and independence of adolescence and the questioning of one’s life path at the mid-life crisis. When Uranus conjoins, squares, opposes, or trines a planet or angle in your natal horoscope, you will feel like breaking from your personal traditions and rituals to experiment with new clothing, hairstyles, foods, healing modalities, relationships, place of residence, or lifestyle choices.

What You May Expect from Uranus in Aries

Uranus in Aries, SkywriterUranus will bring sudden change to your life to rouse you to a higher level of consciousness. It will help you let go of those things that are no longer working in your life. It will help you get rid of that which is restricting you. You will be moved to implement more evolved, quickly moving, and liberating ways of being and doing. You will feel different from how you think you “normally” feel.

You will crave new experiences and interaction with others who are different from yourself. You also will need time alone to integrate new aspects of yourself, qualities that have always been there but have not until now been catalyzed into action. You will need space to experience these new qualities and freedom to grow, evolve, and become more of who you truly are.

You may feel more emotional at times and more distant from your feelings at other times. It’s important to be flexible, non-judgmental, and forgiving of yourself and others. Know that it is normal to change your mind at a moment’s notice and to be spontaneous. You are learning to be in the moment and to respond in ways that are appropriate to each passing minute rather than to your established habits and potentially comfortable but ossified patterns and routines.

Under the influence of Uranus in Aries, you will enhance your identity as a separate individual while simultaneously gaining the sense that you are an integral part of a larger group of humanity. Uranus fosters collective exchange over personal, intimate relationships. You will question decisions from the past and take risks to create what you think you really want and need. You may feel out of control at times as you take a sip of “cosmic caffeine.” But you also will realize you didn’t need the control you previously thought you did. Ultimately, Uranus in Aries will bring you enormous insight, vision, creativity, and awareness.

  1. I admit to being anxious about Uranus moving into Aries with the attendant “Whoosh” of energy it will bring. It will oppose my Libra Moon in about 5 yrs as part of a t-square with Saturn & Pluto but from the fifth house. Since I’m waaaay past my child-bearing years, perhaps this will have more to do with creative “children”.

Making a list of the remedies for nerves ’cause I’m going to need them! 🙂

    diane~

    • Hi, Diane, Uranus is a mixed blessing, for sure, but it does push us into new territory when we’re dragging our feet and resisting change. I think you’re right about Uranus transiting the 5th as a new creative direction–can be quite exciting, actually. Donna

  2. As my Midheaven is 8′ Aries & natal Jupiter is 13′

    ( Sag rules H6)

I am curious as to how this transit will affect me..

    We’ll see !

  3. Aloha Donna and Laurie Thanks for all the information on which flower essences to use during the upcoming Uranus in Aries transit. I may need to use all of them in the near future, as my relocated ASC will hold tr Saturn in Libra, opposite tr Uranus in Aries on DEC, and both square to tr Pluto in IC.

I feel the energy has already started at my Hawai’i location because of the bedlam we recently experienced with a tsunami threatening all the coastal areas of each island, because of the massive earthquake in Chile. Warning sirens were blasting at 5AM, firetrucks swarmed local neighborhoods with loudspeakers warning locals and visitors to head for the hills. Parks, beaches and attractions were evacuated and many streets were closed to traffic. Even Governor Lingle signed papers for Federal catastophy aid, should places get wiped out!

But in the true spirit of Aloha, everyone helped everyone else to get to safety, some folks even brought along musical instruments so they could sing and play to help calm anyone who was visably upset. In all, thankfully, there were no huge tsunami waves, just a few surges in spots. The state of Hawai’i chart has natal Saturn at 0 degrees Capricorn, so we may see some more of that kind of action in the near future!

We had the drill, and are now prepared for a big event, if that happens again. Mahalo a nui loa (many thanks) for all your good info. Meleanna

    • Interesting that, Meleanna. A friend and I watched the whole event there in Hawaii, minute by minute coverage on CNN, as she’d just returned from a trip there. Maybe it WAS a blessed drill. Donna

  4. Thanks for this post, Donna! It’s very informative and helpful.

  5. My moon is at 0 Libra – already bombarded by Pluto and Saturn, now uranus will join the party! But I have moon square Uranus natally and score very hight on Donna’s Uranus quiz (conj ASC, trine Sun, 3 planets plus MC in Aquarius). I’ve actually been finding myself deepening with Pluto/Saturn on the moon. Not my cheeriest period, but not terribly depressing.

I’m hoping the familiar (to me) Uranian energy will turbocharge me. Bringing love into my life would be a good thing too – i’ve been hoping Saturn in the 5th rather than being depressing would bring a serious partner.

  6. Aloha Donna I’m so glad your friend got home safely before the tsunami event. We heard that some O’ahu tourists were willing to pay up to $3,000 for an airline seat out of there when the warnings went out. In my little corner of these isles (Kauai) there are lots of chickens running wild around the island, and their early morning crowing makes for no need of an alarm clock, so the sirens were taken in stride. But the closing of main roadways made it feel like a creepy ghost town. (tr Pluto in 4th) Meleanna

    • Thanks for the update, M. My friend will be happy she got home beforehand. Donna

  7. Uranus approaching my 27 deg descendant at 27 Pisces and in opposition to my ascendant and square my MHand heading into my 7th house where it will square Saturn Mercury Sun and Venus which are all conjunct in early Cancer at 1, 5, 7 and 8 degrees respectively. Sounds intense…and with Pluto sitting in exact opposition in Capricorn I can’t imagine how this will play out. Any thoughts?

    • K, I am retired from doing charts in order to focus on writing, so I don’t comment extensively on individual charts on this blog. However, you will find many articles to help put that together yourself. I have about 15 articles on the Pluto-Saturn square, what it means in various houses, and how to work with it. See the category “A Pluto-Saturn Preparedness Kit” at the top of the right hand corner of the blog. Donna

  8. What a timely heads up. My hubs and I have been busy with the energy of Uranus, and Mars in retrograde. After a very long dunking of Neptune we have begun rebuilding … a business, in the Senior Years. I’m likening it to that probability that old beavers (we being Watery Suns) remain beavers and adjust to the level of the river water.

Uranus has been inciting my 2nd house for months while opposing Saturn across the way in my 9th house … philosophies are changing (thanks in great measure to astrology!) and ways of looking at money morphs as well.

I love the suggestions for Flower Essences. Being MCS, I will approach using them gently, as alcohol and concentrated ‘anything’ is often too much for a Canary.

Thank you both for the collective wisdom.

    • I guess by canary, you’re referring to the “canary in the mine shaft” analogy, which does seem quite fitting for Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. I’ve often used that analogy for Uranus-Neptune aspects, especially the conjunction and square.

As for flower essences, the diluted versions are better and more effective for most people than the concentrates in the bottles you buy. Use a 1 oz dropper bottle like you’d buy at a pharmacy, and only use 4-5 drops of the concentrate, then shake them about 100 times to disperse evenly through the bottle. If even that is too much, there are other ways you can experiment with–eg putting a dropperful of the diluted version into a bath and dispersing it; putting a few drops of the diluted version on a relevant chakra, or between your toes. Or spray it in the house. Let me know what works for you, M. Donna

      • A COUPLE WKS since your resonse, and just as uranus moved out of sqare to my natal uranus i fell. I have had time to feel all sorts of emotions and pain. I’ve used Hawaiian healing and raw sesame seed to ease the initial shock and swelling and an x-ray today identified a hairline break in the elbow.

Not yet used flower essences, do have Rescue Cream on the break. I don’t have a good relationship with Aries…that will need to change, I see. With that much time with Uranus occupancy, there’ll be opportunity to make friends or at least find ways to integrate and direct power positively. I really don’t need to break my self up to get there…that list will be good guidance.

      • So sorry to hear, Mokihana, take good care of yourself. Donna

  9. ThanxMuch, Donna

I love reading your astro asticles..

  10. born caracas venezuela april/03/1955 at 11am. thank you: please let me know if i´m to be prone by accident in a good way or if it will do me wrong!

    • HI, Ramon, I’m retired from doing charts and don’t comment extensively on individual charts on this blog. Only if you have any planets or the Ascendant or Midheaven in the early degrees of the cardinal signs, however, might you be accident prone during the Uranus transits, especially if you have a history of accidents. Donna

      • 1984 my father had an stroke that change my life(he was scorpios) a year later he died so i had my mother and minor sister to support by me. i tell you this ´couse read that this “accident prone” acts in little incidents so too make you change, but it happens in material aspect not that i notice it in the spirituals accion of course make more mature as a man.what i read said happens twice, with a distance of 25 years;is this the second time?

      • Hello, Ramon, what a difficult life change. I do believe that Uranus is implicated in strokes–doctors call them Cerebral Vascular Accidents. I’m not sure what you mean by happens twice, 25 years apart. Uranus is in a sign about 7.5 years, so in about 23-24 years it would be square the position it was. Donna

  11. Truthfully, I am so excited about Uranus arriving in Aries, so that energies will truly “wake up” from dreamy Pisces and get into action! However, I can also see other things that could happen at this time with all this excitement (I was thinking accidents). I will be keeping this handy, for sure! 🙂

  12. Well having a moon conjunct Uranus and Pluto, i must admit i love my Uranian energy but I am a bit anxious and exited at the same time when Uranus will enter Aries where my natal Saturn is at 2 degrees, my Sun at 4, Lilith at 13 in my 9th house and opposing my natal Uranus, Pluto and Moon in Virgo in my 2nd house
I would love to hear your input
    Thanks in advance

    • Hi, Nathalie, those are big transits, but I no longer do individual charts or comment on them extensively on this blog, as I’m retired now in order to write. You’ll find lots of articles about the Pluto and Saturn transits in the category “A Pluto-Saturn Preparedness Kit” at the upper right hand side of this blog. Donna

  13. Thanks Donna, I will surely use the flower essences, but now have to figure out how to make them.

    • Y E A H, harenews….I have been onto that ominous Pluto in Capricorn transit square Uranus Aries transit and the Earthquake syndrome. Its always on my mind and is making a major square in 2012. It will also square my Neptune in Libra and Ascendant
I expect a major earth chunk shift from off the southern edge of the Precambrian shield to effect our area in northern Minnesota. I first saw this in a vision in 1980; got the geological fault line maps and saw its possibility there and then the astrological transits pin point it in time. The movement was in the summer in the vision. Scary indeed, and one must prepare just in case.
Warning people on the basis of a vision seems futile because they just think you are a coo coo bird.; especially since there has never been any such thing in this area in living or recorded memory…but as I withdraw during the next few months ,I will publish one warning in the local newspaper. My close friends say they believe me.
I tried big time in 1990 to steer people away from Uranium, Gold and Copper/Nickle mining in my run for Governor, but did not say why other than talk about its poisonous results to our Great Watershed with 1/3 of humanity downstream. Our responsibility to keep it clean etc….Back then these companies were snooping around and the incumbent Gov. had already sold it out by Executive decree in 1979. The State Legislature was unaware of it until I informed them which knocked the Companies back, until now.

The political climate and massive mining onslaught now worming into our area and its closing in on one that is Sacred, will trigger the land / lake movement.
We are at the top of the only 3 way watershed ( in the world) that makes it to the Seas in 3 directions. North, East and South. The westerly flow makes it to the Rockie Mt near the USA/ Canadian border and then joins the north flow to the arctic ocean.
Big Greed need only glance at this ( particular) special area, within a larger special area; in a covetous way and the land will bury them instantly; that’s how finely tuned it is. Its poised like a starving cougar, , thews strung tight and ready to pounce.
Earth has a state of conscious awareness and a survival instinct like all living beings do.She emits heat like all living beings do.

  14. Are you guys aware that the Planet Uranus entered the constellation Aries on May 27 2010, left on August 13 2010, and re-entered Aries on March 11 2011. On Aug 13 2010there was the earthquake in VANUATU and obviously on March 11 2011 there was the earthquake in the Sea of Japan.

    Rupert Marshall

    harenewscorp.wordpress.com

    • I imagine most astrologers are aware of it, yes.

  15. Uranus in Aries in my 6th house of health brought me a (head) brain virus in late July of 2012 and put me in the hospital for eight days until Aug. 8, 2012. Now, it is Nov. 12, 2013 and I am still trying to adjust from all the disruptive but necessary changes in my life. Changes for me began in early 2010 and have continued through 2011, 2012 and into 2013. I am hoping that the dust will soon settle as I move into 2014. Having five planets in water signs makes me ultra-sensitive. I think Uranus and Pluto squaring is meant to toughen us up in many ways. I have changed in many ways!
